Pineapple Upside Down Cake

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Melt 1/4 cup of the butter in a 13-inch by 9-inch baking dish and sprinkle with brown sugar. Arrange pineapple rings over over the bottom of the pan and put in the oven until the cake batter is ready.

Sift together the dry ingredients and set aside. Cream the remaining butter and the sugar until fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add the vanilla. Gradually beat in the dry ingredients, alternating with the pineapple juice.

Bake for 50 minutes.
